Doosan Infracore(CEO & President Yongsung Kim) received the “Top Prize” at the award ceremony for the “2012 Best Companies in Corporate Governance” held at the Korea Exchange on June 19.
The “Best Companies in Corporate Governance” are selected every year by the Corporate Governance Service, from among all of the listed companies, based on an evaluation of their corporate governance and their sustainable management capacity, including the degree of their social and environmental contributions.
Among the 710 listed companies, KB Financial Group was awarded the Grand Prize. Doosan Infracore was honored with the Top Prize in the main KOSPI market category, while Daum Communications received the Top Prize in the Kosdaq market.
Doosan Infracore was cited for expanding the adoption of a sustainable managerial system, in which it constantly secured innovation and enhanced managerial soundness, by banking on a sustainable managerial diagnostic model developed by the Company, across its affiliates around the world. The Company was also credited with elevating managerial transparency by forming an audit committee, internal trading committee, and outside director candidate recommendation committee with outside directors. It also forged win-win partnerships with suppliers, implemented strategic corporate social responsibility campaigns, and advanced management of EHS.
The winners of the corporate governance awards are exempt from the fees paid to the stock exchange, and the fees required to list additional shares, and are entitled to participate for free in a “training course for professionals in charge of public disclosures” and a “course on the validation of public disclosure professionals” organized by the Korea Listed Companies Association, for the given year.
Doosan Infracore was included in the Dow Jones Sustainable Index(DJSI) Korea, the global index that evaluates the sustainable management of companies, in 2010, and in the DJSI Asia, a higher level index, in 2011.
