The inaugural assembly of the Chosun Machine Factory (predecessor of HD HYUNDAI INFRACORE) was held at the Hansung Bank meeting place in Seoul on June 4, 1937. The factory was constructed at a site in Manseokjeong (now Hwasu-dong), Incheon, and our main office was located in Seoul.
The Chosun Machine Factory was both the first large-scale machine shop in Korea and the beginning of Korea's modern machine industry.
At the time of our foundation, the company manufactured mining machinery for gold mine development, together with materials processing such as steelmaking casting, forging, and canning. The company also manufactured war supplies such as ship engines and submarines according to military demand when the Pacific War broke out in 1941.

In the 1960s, employees working in the design team had to get through the tough competition rate of 50:1 to join the company.
With the 'Manual of Machine Drawing' and 'Collection of Industrial Machine Drawings' as their only textbooks, these talented people created drawings for mining equipment, constrution equipment and transporters with ease.

The company expanded the scope of our business by manufacturing marine diesel engines, railway vehicles, and forklifts under a technical alliance with several advanced companies in the 1960s. A large-scale production system was established by manufacturing machinery products massively and increasing localization at the beginning of the 1970s. In 1975, the company completed the construction of a diesel engine factory with an annual production capacity of 60,000 units (the largest capacity in Asia at that time), laying the foundations for a new chapter in the development of the automotive industry in Korea.

Even though the world economy faced a severe recession in the aftermath of the second oil shock in the early 1980s, Hd overcame the crisis by carrying out our TQC quality planning, expanding A/S system and research institute organization, developing new technologies, and diversifying our production models.
In particular, the company succeessfully developed Solar excavators and Storm engines using our own technology.

The mission of the company, renamed as HD HYUNDAI INFRACORE in 2021, embodies our wish to become the key agent in infrastructure support projects around the world.
As part of our global strategy, is actively growing our businesses through strategic investments including the construction of the Gunsan construction equipement plant, Incheon small diesel engine plant, and global R&D center.
