Mutually Beneficial Cooperation – We Are in the Same Boat

Doosan Infracore hosted briefing sessions on its “Benefit Sharing” initiative at the Inchoen plant on February 16 and at the Changwon plant on February 19. More than 170 subcontractors participated in the sessions.
A number of officials from the government, including Yoon Sang-Jik, Director General for Industry and Economy of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, and representatives of the Korea Productivity Center attended the session on February 16, showing great interest in the company’s benefit sharing initiative.
Benefit Sharing is a policy initiative to foster win-win cooperation between large enterprises and their small and medium-sized suppliers. To this end, both parties are expected to work together to cut costs, improve processes, productivity and quality and develop new technology while sharing benefits from the results. The Ministry of Knowledge Economy is leading such efforts in Korea, and a new unit dedicated to this initiative was established in the Korea Productivity Center in 2005. Increasing numbers of major conglomerates and state-owned companies are adopting this initiative.
The Doosan Group has taken the lead in fostering mutually beneficial cooperation with small and medium-sized suppliers after signing the Win-Win Cooperation and the Fair Trade Pact last year. Doosan Infracore adopted and implemented this initiative in the belief that the company needs to grow together with its subcontractors to secure a competitive advantage in the global market.
At the briefing, the company explained why Benefit Sharing is important, what others in the industry are doing and what still needs to be done. Techniques and examples of Benefit Sharing were also introduced.
