On May 1, Foreman Gi-Hwan Hong (development testing) of Doosan Infracore's Technological Management Team received the Presidential Commendation at the “2009 Labor Day” award ceremony for the contributions he has made to strengthening technological capabilities and his role in local charity events.
Foreman Hong entered the company in 1984, and since then, he has constantly worked to improve himself and develop new technologies. As a result, he acquired the Master Craftsman of Machining license in 1999, only given to engineers with the highest skill sets. He has acquired four additional licenses, as well as a total of seven certifications related to business improvement patents, utility models and design rights.
Moreover, by sharing his accumulated knowledge in the field of machining with executives and staff members of the company at in-house seminars and in the field, he has contributed greatly to Doosan Infracore’s cultivation of high-quality human resources.
As an executive of the Site Managers' Advisory Board, he has also led the way in creating a happy and energetic workplace and continues to lead by example with his charitable, “living together” mindset of helping the disabled, immigrant workers and other underprivileged members of society.
Foreman Hong is currently engaged in the development of new technologies in various company projects, including the development of hybrid excavators and intelligent excavators.
