The Engines & Materials BG has opened a new service training center at the Incheon plant site and aims to have local trainers deployed in every region the BG serves by 2014.
The 266m² facility is outfitted with the latest training equipment in order to develop human resources in accordance with the latest advances in technology. The trainees can learn in comfort with the provision of locker rooms, a library and lounge.
With the Incheon center now open, the Engines & Materials BG will expand the operational platform in stages for maximum effect. The plan calls for establishing a reference library in 2010, qualifying 20 local trainers and setting up locally-run training operations in Korea, China and the United States. The goal is to have a global service network in place by 2014, when trainers deployed in each region will be able to provide guidance on engine maintenance and repair.
The training curriculum is divided into Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Local Trainer levels. Trainees for the Local Training course, the highest level, must have technical knowledge as well as lecturing skills and the appropriate attributes for working in a specific geographic region. They will be eligible to attend exclusive classes at the Head Office at least once a year, and they will be given the first priority for participating in new training courses as they become available.
More than 30 people attended the opening ceremony for the new training center, including Chief & Senior Managing Director Hwang-Ryeol Lee of the Engines and Materials BG, other relevant personnel of Doosan Infracore as well as trainees from overseas marine engine dealers.
