On December 21, Doosan Infracore China Investment Co., Ltd (DICI) received an appreciation plaque for its contributions to the development of China’s education, industry and economy at the “Foreign Investment Enterprise CSR” award ceremony held by China's Ministry of Commerce.

The companies were selected through a review by the organizational committee under the Ministry of Commerce and officials in charge of poverty elimination and wealth development. Appreciation plaques were awarded to 16 companies, including DICI, Dell, Nissan, Amway and Sony.

Since its founding, DICI has been making strenuous efforts to live up to its management philosophy of “pursuit of rational profit and return of income to society and the collaborative construction of a beautiful China.” Accordingly, the company has been fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities in various fields, including education, culture, environment and charity. In particular, the company has been participating in Project Hope, constructing primary schools in underdeveloped areas since 2001 and has assisted the construction of three schools each year. It has also donated a total of 7.45 million RMB to China’s youth development fund. DICI has consequently established or is in the process of establishing 27 “Hope” primary schools.

On December 9, DICI donated 1.2 million RMB to China’s youth development fund to assist in the construction of three elementary schools, including Huazhu elementary school in the Xinren Miao township of Qianxi county, Guizhou; Gongqiao elementary school in Fengyu town, Yanjiang district, Ziyang city, Sichuan; and Zaohua elementary school in Jindong township, Chongqing. DICI also donated 20 million RMB last October to participate in a vocational training program conducted by China’s National Association of Vocational Education and thus established the (Doosan) Vocational Training Center in the city of Jiangsa in Hunan Province. The (Doosan) Vocational Training Center provides training for farmers and the unemployed to develop vocational skills such as machining, assembly and repair techniques. Thus, DICI is playing a vital role in the cultivation of high-quality technical professionals and in the growth of the local economy.

Upon receiving the plaque of appreciation on behalf of DICI from Ma Xiuhong, the Vice Minister of China’s Ministry of Commerce, General Manager In-Yong Jeong of DICI stated that “Doosan will continue to provide the best quality products and services to customers and will strive to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities and duties as a public company.”
