Tech. Prize for Turning Center

Each week the Korean government bestows its IR52 Chang Young-sil on a promising new technology developed domestically. A multi-function turning center was so recognized for Week 15 of 2006 in a ceremony attended by over 120 VIPs such as Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Ministry of Science & Technology Kim Woo-sik, Korea Industrial Technology Association Chairman Huh Young-sup and Maeil Business Newspaper Chairman Chang Dae-hwan on April 13.

Minister Kim presented Doosan Infracore President Choe Sung-chul with a plaque and trophy, while plaques and medals were also handed out to the people involved in developing the new product--VP Kim Kwang-jin (R&D Team 2), Gen. Mgr. Park Sun-gun (R&D Team 5), and Sr. Mgr. Cho Min-hee and Sr. Mgr. Lee Gyoung-jo (R&D Team 2). The 9-axis multi-functional turning center can concurrently control up to nine axes. A single unit can perform all the processes from turning to milling. The modular design allows the machine to be configured various ways for better productivity and lower cost.

nbsp; The Doosan Infracore version offers performance and productivity advantages over competing models, providing the company with a technology edge and a chance to expand domestic sales and exports in the future.
