Manutention, one of the world's big three trade shows for the logistics equipment industry, opened in Paris March 7-10. Doosan Infracore exhibited eight forklifts, including the next-generation electric models and the diesel- and gasoline-powered models due for launch this year. During the show, meetings were held with dealer and customer representatives to explain the new product launch schedule and sales strategies for expanding market share in Europe. Manutention 2006 also presented an opportunity to bolster the Doosan Infracore image through a coordinated public relations program.
Doosan Infracore aims to export US$100 million worth of forklifts to Europe in 2006, a 14% increase over 2005. The sales drive will be supported by stepped up marketing along with new models developed specifically to meet European requirements for high operational safety and low maintenance cost.
The diesel- and gasoline-powered models come with new operator comfort and safety features as standard equipment. In 2005 the company introduced six next-generation electric forklifts (the Pro Series) that have proven to be very safe and easy to maintain.
As part of the marketing effort, the company is increasing its support for dealers and initiating various activities to raise value to customers in global market. At the same time, more attention will be focused on expanding sales in emerging market as Russia and Eastern Europe.
Executive Vice President Kim Woong-bum of the Industrial Vehicle BG says, "We are finding solid new dealers and building a dealer support system to bolster our sales network. We are also pursuing a product and market differentiation strategy to achieve a new forklift sales record in Europe in 2006."
