Sr. Mgr. Kwon Jung-bum of the Changwon Labor-Management Cooperation Team and Supervising Mechanic Ryu Jong-sun of Construction Equipment BG Production Team 2 were presented with commendations from the Minister of Commerce, Industry & Energy (MOCIE) on March 15, Korea's 33rd annual Commerce & Industry Day. The massive ceremony was attended by over 1,200, including senior government officials and representatives from business associations.
Sr. Mgr. Kwon has worked in Personnel since joining the company and has helped to increase workers' rights while improving the company's competitiveness. For the past two years, he has also served as the president of federation of unions representing workers at 42 companies in the Changwon area. In that position he has labored to promote solidarity among the workers and stabilize labor relations for the benefit of all parties.
Supervising Mechanic Ryu, meanwhile, has offered creative suggestions and innovative work improvements that have resulted in productivity and quality gains. He is responsible for the process of attaching the booms, arms and buckets on the excavator production line, and his ideas have helped boost company exports. Over the years, he has found solutions to hydraulic hose leaks on forklift trucks and introduced a quality test room for the assembly lines. His knowledge of the factory floor has translated into greater customer satisfaction.
