The 83 senior executives from operations inside and outside Korea gathered for workshop at the Doosan Leadership Institute on March 3. Led by President & CEO Choe Sung-chul and President & Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer Kim Yong-sung, the session was held to establish a common direction companywide for attaining the mid-term goal (W10 trillion in sales and W1 trillion in operating income by 2010) and long-term vision (one of the world's top five in the infrastructure support business).
The workshop began with an address by President Choe, who was followed by a briefing on the corporate vision by Executive Vice President Kang Dae-ryong of the Strategy & Innovation Division. The participants then divided up into discussion groups to come up with a consensus on and action plans for realizing the company's aspirations. The session closed with an address by Kim.
The workshop was organized in advance of an official announcement of mid-/long-term goals for the company as a whole as well as for individual business groups. The top management must be clear and in agreement on the details so that they can convey a unified message to their subordinates.
