  The dawning of the New Year is an opportunity for me, on behalf of all the people at Doosan Infracore, to sincerely thank you for your ongoing support and patronage.
  The past year was extremely busy for us, as we set out on a quest to join the world’s Top Five in the infrastructure support business. Our people devoted themselves passionately and earnestly to the collective task of making Doosan Infracore a full-fledged global player. We pursued innovation and change to bolster overall operations, and we defined our growth strategies and strategic tasks unequivocally, finalizing our investments and personnel deployments.
  We completed 2006 on a high note, and our efforts to reach the corporate vision showed tangible results. We outperformed the goals we set for ourselves and achieved a new annual performance record. I attribute this success to your interest in and support for our company and want to thank you again for that.
  After careful deliberation, senior management has agreed on the catchphrase for the coming year: “We will stand proudly on the world stage.”
  Our efforts and results to date are worthy of our pride and assure us that Doosan Infracore can measure up to the world’s best. We can confidently assert our main competitors are no longer domestic companies but rather the world’s leading players.
  In step with our company’s rising status, we have renewed our pledge organization-wide to be ever closer to you, the global customers and dealers. As the President, I am ultimately responsible for operational performance. Last year my attention was focused on our achieving the corporate vision, and this will remain my priority in the year ahead. I am firmly committed to bringing global pride and respect to Doosan Infracore, while at the same time rewarding you for your support and working closely with you in the future.
  Our resources, competencies and passion will be directed toward realizing a “proud Doosan Infracore on the world stage”in the coming year. We fill focus particularly on the following points:
  First, we will accelerate global operations. The industry leaders today are those who are first to introduce newly developed technologies and products to the market. Competition continues to intensify. The latecomers such as India and China are changing with each passing day, chasing us relentlessly.
  Our people concur on the need to accelerate the implementation of the strategies we set forth last year. We will respond to the market more quickly and prevail amid tough competition by providing unrivalled products and services.
  Second, we will pursue more radical changes and innovations to secure the optimal production system and the technological expertise to make the world’s best products. We also aim to offer you, the customers, superior services via a superb sales network.
  To these ends, we will concentrate on bolstering our people’s capabilities in the coming year. Top management has earmarked the funds to build new systems and infrastructure as well as to attract and train globally competent personnel.
  Meanwhile, a program has been devised to promote constant change and innovation, and funding has been authorized for this program. My foremost pledge to you this year is to see that this improvement program is implemented to the full.
  Our final priority is on establishing a “culture of unity.”Amid numerous changes last year, we strove to create healthy labor-management relations, but labor issues remain. I cannot stress enough the importance of having all employees behind us. Our long-term objectives will remain elusive without worker unity, even though we have excellent strategies and personnel.
  Importantly, we will not be able to “stand proudly on the world stage”if labor relations go awry. I see a win-win work culture as a precondition for us to achieve our aspirations of being a global leader.
  We have a long-term plan for making Doosan Infracore one of the world’s best places to work. Employee work conditions and fringe benefits continue to improve and our management approach is consistent with legal codes and ethical principles.
  Doosan Infracore has embarked on the road to leadership in the infrastructure support business, and our first year of this new mission was very successful. We still have a long and hard way to go, but we are ready to overcome every challenge and adversity in order to reposition the company as part of the global elite.
  Over the decades, the people in this company have played a pioneering role in the development of the Korean machinery industry. They have served as proud warriors, overcoming adversity and numerous hardships, and now they are on a mission to achieve the corporate vision. I am confident that you will see Doosan Infracore ranked among the world’s best very soon.
