--A total of 210 people were invited to celebrate the successful achievement of the performance target.

Last year, Doosan Infracore President Choe Sung-chul promised his Chinese excavator dealer representatives that he would throw them a big party if the company achieved its goal of selling 6,100 units in China in 2006. The company actually sold 7,582 units, twenty-four percent more than the target, and President Choe kept his word by holding a New Year’s party for on Korea’s resort island of Jeju January 13 and 14. A total of 210 people took part, including dealer representatives and their wives as well as exemplary salespeople and selected employees from Doosan Infracore China Co. (DICC), the local subsidiary that produces excavators.
In his welcome address, President Choe thanked the dealers for their part in helping the company to set a new excavator sales record during 2006 and to retain the top share in the Chinese excavator market. He then unveiled the business plans and sales policies that will be pursued in the coming year.
The President said that Doosan Infracore aims to hold onto the top market position by selling at least 9,000 excavators in China in 2007. He explained that the company would help the dealers to advance so that the performance goal could be met.
Chinese Market a Springboard for Global Market Penetration
Executive Vice President Park Yongman spoke at the welcome dinner on the evening of the thirteenth:
“China is standing tall in the global economy, and we have boundless respect for Chinese potential. We are also proud to say that Doosan Infracore has been contributing to China’s economic development and that we have been growing together with China.
Doosan Infracore considers China to be a second “home market.” Our superior technology and price position in China will serve as the platform for us to go after the global market. I am asking you dealers to join with Doosan Infracore in this ambitious quest.”
Celebrating 7,000+ Excavators Sold
More than one thousand people could be heard cheering and warmly applauding inside the Yantai Development Zone Management Committee Auditorium on January 18. This was an event to observe an important milestone for Doosan Infracore China Co.: the annual production and sale of seven thousand excavators. The participants included all the workers from the DICC excavator plant as well as the people handling excavators at the Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chengdu, and Shenyang branches.
DICC began operating in China in 1996, selling 79 excavators during the first year. Within just ten years, however, annual sales had jumped more than one hundred-fold to a new record. This commemorative event reminded everyone involved in excavators that the hard work paid off last year. The participants also expressed their firm resolve to do even better in the coming year.
