Doosan forklifts received Britain's FLTA Award Ergonomics category in 2005 and Safety category last February. The awards are sponsored by the Fork Lift Truck Association to honor individuals and organizations that have contributed exceptionally to the development of the British logistics industry.
Recognized for superior technology and innovation, Doosan Infracore took part in a March 2006 international tender for forklifts to be used at the World Cargo Center at Heathrow Airport. British Airways announced its final decision to go with Doosan on August 31.
The company will supply twenty-three forklifts altogether, including twenty-one B18X-5 ACs (electric), one B18T-5 AC (electric) and one D25S-3 (diesel). Delivery will be made in early December, after certain modifications requested by the client are completed.
Rushlift Mechanical Handling was named in the tender as the local dealer to supply forklift equipment to and maintain it for the World Cargo Center over the next five years.
Doosan Infracore will take advantage of its selection at Heathrow to market its forklifts to the authorities at Gatwick Airport and Stansted Airport as well.
