A combined certification (OHSAS 18001 and KOSHA 18001) was obtained for the occupational health and safety management systems at the Changwon and Incheon plants. Thus, system compliance is recognized both domestically and internationally. Representatives of the Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA) and British Standards Institute were present for the presentation of the respective certificates on January 4 and 6.
Receipt of OHSAS 18001 and KOSHA 18001 certification means that the company can expect a lower accident rate. Export competitiveness will improve with the higher international credibility that accompanies such certification. Productivity increases with the operation of preventative management systems, and workers feel safer on the job, which heightens their morale and goodwill toward the company.
