The Engines & Materials BG took part in Bus World Asia 2007, exhibiting three Euro-III compliant engines (the DL06, DL08 and DV11), two compressed natural gas (CNG) engines (the GE08TI and GE12TI), and a selective catalytic reduction system designed to meet
the upcoming Euro-IV environmental standards.
This three-day show, held every March in Shanghai since 2002, is China’s largest event dedicated to buses. It attracts bus and engine makers from all around Europe and Asia.
The Chinese government has started to tighten emission control regulations in 2007, and Doosan Infracore has been aggressively marketing its Euro-III compliant engines in the country. Chinese demand for automotive engines is also rising, so Doosan Infracore has promoted its technological excellence through seminars on the Euro-III and Euro-IV engines as well as CNG engines. The company also is strengthening partnerships by hosting dinners for customers.
The marketing effort at Bus World Asia is fundamental for the Engines & Materials BG to achieve 2007 sales goals in China. Doosan Infracore has an opportunity to expand its market presence because the Chinese bus market is robust and the Euro-III emissions standards go into effect nationwide in 2008. Therefore, the BG is approaching luxury bus companies and encouraging them to purchase replacement engines, thereby creating new demand.
