Local development will turn W16 billion a year in imports into exports of some 1,000 units annually.
--The Doosan Infracore models use less fuel and have excellent operation efficiency than their foreign rivals.
Therefore, the turning radius of the machine’s superstructure is reduced by forty percent, allowing it to work safely on tight urban reconstruction sites or in narrow alleys and trenches without the risk of contacting walls and other obstructions.
The integrated layout optimizes the placement of the engine and hydraulics for greater overall stability. The ergonomic design enhances operator comfort and safety.
Sr. Vice President & Chief of Construction Equipment BG Cho Bong-ho explains the benefits of producing zero-tail-swing excavators in Korea as follows:
“Korean companies have had to rely exclusively on importing these machines until now. We can now supply a W16 billion annual domestic market while increasing our excavator exports to Europe and North America by some one thousand units a year.”
Over 3 years, W7.1 billion has been invested in developing the 3.5-ton zero-tail-swing model by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. The project was jointly conducted among government corporate and academic institutions. Doosan Infracore developed the 2.7-ton model on its own, and will apply its excavator design and production know-how to add seven more models to the zero-tail-swing lineup in the future.
