Over 50 people attended a Korean language course completion ceremony at DICC on July 17. Vice President Kim Dong-chul, who heads the China subsidiary, presented certificates to each of the trainees and complemented everyone on their efforts.
China operations are being developed as a cornerstone of Doosan Infracore's global strategy. Therefore, locally hired personnel are receiving various kinds of training and are being groomed for leadership positions. The six-month Korean language program was organized to enhance communication between the people at Yantai and the Head Office. The course started last December with seventeen trainees taking part.
The trainees attended fourteen hours of classes after work each week. All seventeen program participants managed to fulfill the requirements and receive a certificate of completion.
Vice President Kim remarked:
"I'm impressed by the level of enthusiasm shown by the trainees toward their learning Korean. Such studies enhance communication between people at the Head Office and employees hired locally in China. Of course, work can proceed more quickly as well. The Korean language program also supports employee self-development."
The company plans to expand the Korean language program, and trainees who perform the best will be invited to the Head Office for training.
