The first-ever meeting of all North American forklift dealers convened in La Jolla, California March 15-17. More than 200 dealer representatives took part in this highly successful event. Awards were also presented to the top performing dealers, and next-generation models were unveiled.
The company’s latest fork lift lineup includes diesel-powered models outfitted with Tier-3 engines that satisfy the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements and electric-powered models that have an AC system on board. All the new machines come in the distinctive Doosan orange.
The dealers lavishly praised the modernistic styling and the much improved operator safety and comfort built into the design. They especially liked the new 16-ton D160 with hydraulic folding cabin, which facilitates serviceability.
In addition to the quality upgrades, the dealers were excited to hear Doosan’s ambitious and aggressive growth and sales targets. These numbers will be the highest in the industry if they are met.
Speaking at the conference, Executive Vice Presiden & Forklifts BG Chief Kim Woong-bum promised that Doosan Infracore would “provide products with the high quality, sophisticated features and competitive prices to make the Doosan dealers the leaders in their respective regions. ”
Ten persons received Milestone Awards for career sales of one thousand or two thousand units. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and Super bowl MVP Hines Ward spoke during the awards presentation dinner, saying
“ You have to give your all to reach your goals, no matter what the endeavor. ”
A representative of the Doosan Infracore America Forklift Division said, “ We invited Hines Ward to speak because he has a sincere and clean-cut image and his passion for achievement matches what we are trying to do at Doosan. ”
The conference participants were also invited to compete in a round of golf at the Torrey Pines Golf Club, a world-class course that will be the site of the 2008 PGA US Open.
