HD Hyundai Infracore held the awards ceremony for the 9th Welding Skills Competition on November 17 at the GBC Conference Room in its Incheon Campus.

The event, organized by HD Hyundai Infracore and sponsored by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and WorldSkills Korea, took place over nine days from August 28 to September 9. The competition was held at the Incheon Campus, Gunsan Campus, and at key partner companies, with evaluations conducted by master welders from both campuses to ensure fairness.

Sixty-six participants from HD Hyundai Infracore and its partner companies attended the event, including 42 welders from HD Hyundai Infracore and 24 from partner companies. Eight individuals and five teams were recognized for their outstanding achievements.

The Grand Prize, officially called the Minister of Employment and Labor Award, was presented to Team Leader Noh Jin-moo from the Incheon Production Team and Welder Kim Yong-ho from Donghae Machinery. The Excellence Award, also known as the WorldSkills Korea Committee Chairman Award, was presented to Technical Manager Kim Ju-han from the Incheon Production Team and Welder Lee Won-woo from Kunhwa.

Notably, the Gunsan Campus, which installed a welding training facility last year to enhance its welding capabilities, demonstrated the effectiveness of this training by achieving significantly improved scores in the competition.

Awards at the ceremony were presented by Senior Executive Vice President Park Chan-hyug of HD Hyundai XiteSolution, who oversees the Quality and Production Strategy Division. Joining him were Vice Presidents Lee Sung-hyoug from Korea Production and Park Je-il from Construction Equipment Quality at HD Hyundai Construction Equipment.

Senior Executive Vice President Park Chan-hyug congratulated the winners, stating, "It is highly meaningful that we have successfully hosted the Welding Skills Competition for nine years and consistently refined it." He added, "Welding is a craft where the effort put in is directly reflected in the results. We are committed to actively supporting welders in elevating their skills and enhancing the quality of their work."
