HD Hyundai XiteSolution, an intermediate holding company of HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Sector, has launched a college student-led volunteer corps to take a leading stance in environmental and ecosystem conservation.

On the 2nd, HD Hyundai XiteSolution announced that it held the inauguration ceremony of the ‘#Volunteer Corps for Earth’ at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center (GRC) in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province. In attendance were 30 members of the inaugural volunteer corps, President-CEO Cho Young-cheul of HD Hyundai XiteSolution, Co-Existence Cooperation Director Kim Jin-tae of the Korea National Park Service, and employee mentors.

The Volunteer Corps for Earth was newly established through a collaboration between the three HD Hyundai Construction Equipment affiliates (HD Hyundai XiteSolution, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment, and HD Hyundai Infracore) and the Korea National Park Service to raise global awareness of the importance of environmental and ecosystem conservation. The name of the volunteer corps was derived from the ESG slogan of the three HD Hyundai Construction Equipment affiliates, ‘#Be_Courageous_For_The_Earth’.

From now until June of next year, the inaugural volunteer corps members will join in the following activities: △Ecosystem conservation activities with the Korea National Park Service and △Community volunteer activities with HD Hyundai employees.

HD Hyundai XiteSolution will support them in planning and undertaking volunteer corps activity projects, and also provide career and job mentoring from senior employee mentors. Also, outstanding members will be afforded a preferential head start, such as extra points, when applying for new recruitment at the three HD Hyundai Construction Equipment affiliates.

At the inauguration ceremony on this day, the EU goodwill ambassador for climate action Julian Quintart, who also appeared as a Belgian representative panelist on the TV program “Abnormal Summit,” gave a special lecture and delivered a message on the dire importance of environmental conservation.

A HD Hyundai XiteSolution official said, “We will forge a social consensus on the global climate crisis and environmental issues together with the Volunteer Corps for Earth,” and added, “Please stay tuned to the positive changes in our society brought about by HD Hyundai and young people together.”

Starting with the inaugural Volunteer Corps for Earth, HD Hyundai XiteSolution plans to select members and operate programs every year going forward.

In May, HD Hyundai XiteSolution signed a “Business Agreement for Ecological Conservation of Ui-ryeong-gil, Bukhansan National Park” with the Korea National Park Service, and has provided KRW 100 million in

donation support every year for removing invasive species that disrupt the ecosystem and conducting environmental cleanup activities.

Meanwhile, the three HD Hyundai Construction Equipment affiliates have been taking a leading stance in ESG management and international relief efforts, fulfilling their corporate social responsibility. They have delivered donations and deployed construction equipment and manpower to regions affected by the post-war disaster in Ukraine, the Great Turkiye Earthquake, and the major forest fires in Uljin, Gyeongbuk and the East Coast.
