During the exhibition, the two companies set up booths covering an area of 900 ㎡ (272 pyeong) and showcased their line-up of mining equipment, including an ultra-large excavator.
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment is launching a 100-ton ultra-large excavator and a 50-ton large excavator equipped with a ‘rock ripper,’ an attachment that pulverizes hard rocks or ground to the Indonesian market. The company also exhibited a dump truck (WDT) and a 30-ton large excavator.
HD Hyundai Infracore showcased equipment used in mines, such as a 100-ton ultra-large excavator, a 53-ton medium-large crawler excavator, wheel loaders, mining dump trucks, and articulated dump trucks.
Recently, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Infracore have focused on increasing its sales of ultra-large equipment with high profitability in emerging markets, centered on countries with abundant resources.
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Infracore recorded a combined market share of approximately 7% in the Indonesian construction equipment market in the first half of this year, and they now aim to secure a double-digit market share within five years.
Notably, Indonesia is rich in mineral resources such as tin, cobalt, and nickel, recording the world’s largest reserves and production volume, and the demand for mining equipment is growing. According to Research and Markets, a global market research firm, the mining equipment market in this region is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 4.2% from 28,568 units in 2024 to 36,510 units by 2029.
An official of HD Hyundai said, “The demand for mining equipment is rising in resource-rich countries as the demand for mineral resources is increasing due to the recent production of EV batteries,” adding, “We will provide customized products and services that take into account local circumstances, with the aim of strengthening our presence and enhancing our profitability in emerging markets, which are recording continuous growth.”
