HD Hyundai Infracore to Recruit and Invest More in its Incheon Office to Build Competence

- Will secure talents through internships with local universities and academic-industrial scholarships
- Will be hiring 150 research and production positions for Incheon HQ
- Will invest over KRW 40 billion until 2024 to transform engine plant into an electronic engine production hub

HD Hyundai Infracore (CEO: Young-cheul Cho, Seung-hyun Oh) is taking action to reach its vision of becoming a global Top 5 player by recruiting talents and investing in one of its key business sites, the Incheon plant.


As part of such efforts, HD Hyundai Infracore will be hosting an ‘IN x IN DAY' with and at Inha University on the 17th this month to share the future vision of mechanical engineering and to recruit young talents.


A campus recruit, executive lecture, graduate mentoring will take place for undergraduates located in Incheon, Korea, which is where HD Hyundai Infracore’s HQ is located.


The company will also be giving advantages to Incheon-based undergraduates applying for their internship-to-job program by giving them the opportunity to skip the application review process and directly join the first round of interviews. It also plans to provide academic-industrial scholarships for master and doctorate degree students from laboratories in which they have academic ties.


HD Hyundai Infracore has decided to recruit more positions for its construction equipment and engine businesses with the positive market turnaround. The company has already newly recruited twenty employees for the Incheon plant during H1 and plans to recruit an additional 120~130 employees in H2 which will amount to a total of around 150 positions just this year.


Expanding investments is also part of HD Hyundai Infracore’s plan. The company is planning to renovate its mid-to-large size engine production plant in Incheon, built in 1979, to a high-tech electronic engine production plant by 2024 after investing a total of KRW 40 billion.


It will go through a total renovation this year including the interior from roof to floor and walls, along with a major transformation into a new assembly line for high-tech electronic engines. The newly transformed plant will be used as the main production line for the engine business.


The engine business of HD Hyundai Infracore recorded a hike in Q1 revenue and operating profit of 32.5% (KRW 307 billion) and 75.4% (KRW 49.4 billion) respectively, YoY, due to increased demand for generator, off-highway, on-highway, tank engines.


A representative of HD Hyundai Infracore mentioned, “To better compete with global competitors, our goal is to recruit research, production, and testing plant engineers from universities located near our main business office in Incheon,” and added, “We hope to grow into a competitive global production hub by constantly upgrading our facilities while enhancing product quality and production efficiency.” <EOD>
