On November 27, Doosan Infracore participated in the 2020 Smart Construction Technology and Safety Tradeshow, Korea’s largest smart construction technology event, hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.

As the largest participant in the tradeshow, Doosan Infracore introduced its latest cutting-edge construction technologies including XiteCloud, Concept-X, AR/VR-based PHM, transparent wheel loader buckets, hydrogen fuel cell drones, and smart drilling robots.

XiteCloud is a comprehensive construction site management solution capable of analyzing the volume of earthwork and mapping out optimal construction plans in 1 to 2 days using 3D drone surveying and the company’s unique platform. As for Concept-X, an unmanned integrated control solution for construction sites, it was released for the first time in the world at a demonstration held in November 2019.

The tradeshow also featured an awards ceremony for the Smart Construction Challenge 2020 held in September 2020 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The challenge was held to promote smart construction technologies and encourage contractors to use them in the field. Doosan Infracore was awarded the Grand Prize by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in recognition of the excellence of XiteCloud and machine control* in the categories of earthwork automation and advanced surveying.

An executive from Doosan Infracore said, “We introduced the world's first autonomous construction site solutions in 2019. Since the launch of XiteCloud earlier this year, we have been accelerating our efforts to make the smart construction site a reality,” adding, “We will continue to take the lead in realizing a new future in the construction industry by commercializing diverse new solutions.”

The tradeshow also featured a commemorative seminar and an inaugural general meeting of the Smart Construction Forum, an organization formed by thirty-seven representatives from industry-academia-research institutes with the aim of promoting and disseminating smart construction technologies in Korea.
