Doosan Infracore announced on April 19 that it had signed an MOU for an ‘Educational Infrastructure Support Project to Foster Local Talent in the Field of Construction Equipment’ with Boryeong City and Ajou Motor College on April 18 at the college in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do Province. The MOU signing ceremony was attended by more than twenty people including Boryeong Mayor Dongil Kim, President of Ajou Motor College Pyongwan Park, and Doosan Infracore President and CEO Dongyoun Sohn.
The main purpose of the industry-government-academia agreement is to foster talent in the field of construction equipment in the Boryeong area.
Under the terms of the agreement, Doosan Infracore will donate construction equipment - including various parts required for training on the assembly and disassembly of engines, and hydraulic pumps and cylinders – and the relevant educational programs to Ajou Motor College. Meanwhile, Boryeong City will provide the college’s students with scholarships to help them find good jobs, while the Ajou Motor College will run the aforementioned educational programs largely based on the donated construction equipment.
Notably, Doosan Infracore plans to build a 'Proving Ground' (PG) to verify the performance and durability of construction equipment in Boryeong City by the end of 2019. An official of Doosan Infracore said, "We will contribute to the development of Boryeong by helping young people in the local community to develop into skilled operators of construction equipment while further enhancing the performance and quality of our construction equipment with the operation of a proving ground in the Boryeong area.
